I’m updating some of the candle holders in our home to fit within our coastal home decor. While out shopping the retail stores I was shocked at the price of candle holders and candlesticks. Holy Guacamole!!! Are they made out of 24 kt gold or something? Geesh. I found a few I liked but I refuse to pay ridiculous prices for them.
My solution…head to the local thrift store to see what I could find and let me tell you…they had hundreds of them on the shelves! Some were still brand new with original tags and others were gently used, almost like new! On top of that…priced $2.99 to $7.99 each. Now…that’s more like it!
I purchased 3 on that particular thrifting shopping trip. I purchased a large wooden candle holder that holds a pillar candle. It has a rustic white-wash finish which works perfectly in my home decor. It will be going into the family room with a flameless pillar candle sitting on top. I then purchased a set of 2 lead crystal taper candle holders. They’re heavy and beautiful. These will be perfect for our dining room table when we’re entertaining. I’ll be placing battery operated taper candles inside them. They were brand new with manufacturers stickers still on them.
Okay, so what did I pay? I paid $6.99 for the large wooden pillar candle holder and $4.99 for the set of 2 lead crystal taper candle holders. Wow…what a deal. I’m so excited about the purchases I made and the money that I saved!!! With everything you thrift…bring it home and give it a good overall cleaning.
