My grandson loves playing the classic Atari game called Pac-Man. Out of thousands of video games available…his favorite is Pac-Man. As a grandparent who grew up playing it….I approve! Prince has a birthday coming up and the theme will be Pac-Man. Hence…why I painted over a dozen of these themed seashells for the party.

For table decor…I painted the designs on large clam shells. For party favors…I painted the design on smaller clam shells, oyster shells and razor clams. I wanted the shells small enough to fit into their birthday party bags. You can use whatever type of seashells you have on hand.
You’ll need to base coat all of the shells with 1-2 coats of black acrylic craft paint. Let dry until the paint is no longer tacky.
I used a pack of BETEM Acrylic Paint Markers that I purchased from Amazon to do all of the design work. These acrylic paint markers feature dual-ended tips (one medium and one fine). No priming, no clogged tips, no drippy messes and no foul paint odors. PLUS…they’re affordable and dry fast.
Use the photograph for reference on the design that I painted. It’s very easy, no pattern or template is needed. It doesn’t have to be perfect and NO professional artistic skills are needed. It’s a design that even the kids could make…if you’re looking for an art project to do with the kids! Let all of the paint dry.
Finishing up – You need to seal the painted design by brushing on 1-2 light coats of Mod Podge Clear Sealer. I used one with a glossy finish. It goes on white but will dry crystal clear. Let dry. You can flip the seashells over and use a black SHARPIE marker to write a message and/or date.
