Last weekend I made honey bbq barbecue chicken on the grill. The recipe was easy to whip together and I had all of the ingredients on hand. The entire family devoured the chicken. It had just the right amount of sweetness without being overly-sweet. You can use any cuts of chicken that you have…I used it on breasts, wings, drumsticks and leg quarters.

Grilled Honey BBQ Chicken Recipe
1 cup bbq sauce
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 tsp. ground paprika
1/4 onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
chicken
dash of salt and ground black pepper
Mix up all of the above ingredients (except for the chicken) in a marinating container. Place the chicken inside the container. Use a spoon to cover all sides of the chicken with the bbq sauce. Cover the container. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
Preheat the grill. While the grill is preheating remove the chicken from the refrigerator and add a dash of salt and ground black pepper on top. Place the chicken on a hot grill. You’ll want to flip the chicken over…halfway through the cooking process so that both sides get some good heat from the grill. When it’s done…remove and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Delicious!
