Two weeks ago I was doing my grocery shopping and decided to go down their clearance aisle. They had food (shelf stable) and non-food and housewares markdown to clearance prices. For the most part…things were marked down 50-75% off their original price. I’m always on the lookout for bargain basement deals. Frugal…yes!
Anyway….I picked up 2 bags of jumbo sized cotton balls (each bag contained 200 cotton balls) for $1.49 per bag. (not shown in the photograph). Then as I proceeded down the aisle further I came across their seasonal items. They had citronella candles, melamine dinnerware, insect repellant sprays and several other seasonal items marked down. I decided to pick up a 2-pack of outdoor citronella candles that were now priced at $2.49 for the set of 2. Then…my big buy of the shopping trip!
We have children that hang out at our home during the summertime because of our swimming pool. I found these adorable sandcastle beach summer melamine dinnerware marked at 75% off the original price. Melamine isn’t safe for the microwave (it heats up) so please be aware of that. I got 6 of the plates for just .75 cents each! Perfect for when the kids are here! If they would of had bowls or other matching pieces I would of gotten those too. However, the plates are perfect for when their eating hot dogs, burgers and other foods when we’re dining outside. Perfect for backyard barbecues!
So there you have it. My frugal bargain basement finds that I picked up on recently.
