We have started the guest bathroom rennovation and it’s coming along nicely. Slow…but nice! Hubby is doing all of the demo work himself. He’s replacing the walls, flooring, ceiling and all we will have a new tub/shower, toilet and sink. He estimates this project will take about 6 months to complete. He has gutted it and now it’s time to rebuild it.

My part is to shop for and pick out all of the new items going into the guest bathroom. Yay, I do enjoy shopping! It will be in a coastal and beach theme (like the rest of our house) but NOT nautical. Yes, they’re different. I like the more muted colors…relaxing and zen-like in our home. The guest bathroom will be in a beach theme but using muted colors…nothing bright or loud.
While shopping at a local antique’s store I came across this coastal, beach and lighthouse framed wall art piece. It’s an oil painting on canvas and signed by the artist. I don’t know anything about the artist, but will investigate that. It was originally smaller in size…but the original owner had a second wood frame added to it to enlarge the size. If you flip it over to the backside you can clearly see that it was originally just a small framed canvas…now two wood frames surround it.
This piece will eventually be hung-up in the guest bathroom once comepleted. On the back of the piece was the original price tag of $89.00…well, I got it for $25 and I’m super happy about that. It’s the perfect size for the wall space and I LOVE the muted pastel (soothing) colors.
