Twice a year we have the pleasure of seeing Canadian Geese on their migration path. Here in south central Pennsylvania, that’s typically in early Spring and early Fall. We will see hundreds of them flying above or taking a break in our neighborhood. Like all natural wildlife, we don’t mess with them at all…we just like to observe them from a distance.
A few days ago we were enjoying breakfast on our back patio. All of a sudden we look down in the backyard and saw a flock of Canadian Geese walking through our yard like they owned the place! They weren’t afraid of us being out there at all. There was one large male and 9 females in this particular flock. They walked all around the back yard for about an hour. After the hour had passed they all basically lined up and followed the larger one to our neighbor’s property.
Canadian Geese can get quite large in size and these were all adults! On top of that…they can get very noisy talking to one another. It was pretty cool seeing them out in our backyard. A fabulous way to start our day. Oh one more thing…our cat Romeo LOVED sitting in his Catio and watching the geese hang out in the yard. A few times he was “cackling” back at them.
