Last weekend I was at a local Farmer’s Market picking up some things that we needed. While I was there I stopped by the food court to order take-out so that we would have something for lunch. While I was standing in line I noticed a military soldier standing in front of me. He had just placed his order for lunch. When the cashier gave him his total of what was due….I stepped in front and paid his bill for him. In other words, I paid for his lunch!
While we were in line waiting for his order to be filled we had a little chat. It seems we have a lot in common and he’s based nearby. (about a 20 minutes drive from our home). We exchanged information and I thanked him for his service. This soldier really appreciated my kindness in buying his lunch and taking a few minutes to talk with him. Our soldiers are heroes! Freedom is free!
Whenever I can…I enjoy paying it forward and doing good deeds in our community…especially if those good deeds involved our Military who often go unappreciated. Same goes with our law enforcement community. I will often pay for their coffee or meal when the opportunity arises. We need more people showing their appreciation and doing good deeds in our world.
