Elegear Self Inflating Sleeping Pad with Memory Foam

August 15, 2025 by Sam H.

We do a lot of traveling and often times we will have one or two grandchildren along with us. We go camping together in a medium-sized camper or stay in hotels. No matter how we’re traveling, there never seems to be enough sleeping space. On top of that, the kids spend a lot of time at our home for sleepovers…we needed a portable sleeping pad mattress solution!

Two weeks ago we received the Elegear Self Inflating Sleeping Pad with Memory Foam for the review. It arrived in perfect time for our grandson’s sleepover at our home. It comes with a nice little booklet explaining to you all of the features, how to set it up and how to take it down. It also comes with it’s own storage bag. I love that it doesn’t take up a lot of storage space and that it’s light-weight, so I can move it from room to room or from house to camper with ease.

The sleeping pad is self-inflating and only takes a minute or two to set-up. It’s made out of memory foam that is very supportive but yet comfortable to lay on. It will hold up to 800 lbs. It’s on the thin side in regards to thickness but you would never know that when sitting or laying on it. Thickness is 3.1″ to 4.8″ when laying on it…you do NOT feel the bottom of the floor. When it’s all deflated and rolled-up it weighs only 8.1 lbs…light-weight and portable.

There’s 2-valves located on the sleeping pad toward’s the bottom. You use those valves to inflate and deflate it. Again, I want to repeat that it’s self-inflating! You don’t need an air pump to inflate it. You don’t physically blow air into it with your mouth either. Just want to make all of that VERY CLEAR.

Into hiking and outdoor camping? The outer layer is made out of 50d outdoor grade stretch knitted fabric. It’s built to handle the outside elements but yet…it can be used indoors too. There’s a waterproof TPU layer that helps to keep the entire pad dry. It’s made out of high performance luxury sleep material along with the high density memory foam to make it super-comfortable. Let’s face it, if it isn’t comfortable…no one will sleep on it. This is definiately comfortable and exceeded our comfort expectations!

You can purchase the Elegear Self Inflating Sleeping Pad with Memory Foam from Amazon for an affordable price! We love how easy this sleeping pad is to set up, take down and how light-weight it is. Heck, our 11 year old grandson was able to tote it from one side of the family room to the other side with ease. Whether you need extra-sleeping space in your home or go out traveling…this is a great self-inflating sleeping pad that anyone can use.
