National S’mores day is celebrated on August 10th and my family is celebrating a little bit early. Alter Eco sent us several of their organic chocolate bars to whip up our own S’mores with a yummy twist! First, let me tell you a little bit about Alter Eco.

My family loves S’mores so we invited them over for a little S’mores making party. We decided to make them using graham crackers, vanilla flavored marshmallows and with the Alter Eco Raspberry Creme Truffle Thins Chocolate Bar. Alter Eco chocolates are organic, non GMO, contain no additives and no soy products.
We had intentions of making our S’mores using our fire pit in the backyard. Change of plans when a nasty Thunderstorm rolled in. We decided to make them using the oven. I lined a baking sheet with a non-stick silicone baking mat. Placed the graham crackers down first…then a piece of the Alter Eco chocolate bar and the marshmallow on top. I didn’t place the other half of the graham cracker on top at this stage. Popped the baking sheet into a preheated 350 degrees F. oven for about 3 minutes. Just long enough to get the chocolate bar and the marshmallow to start melting. Pulled the baking sheet out and placed the other half of the grapham cracker on top. Left them sit for 3-4 minutes before serving.
While using the oven to make the S’mores wasn’t the best way…it still worked! The raspberry creme truffle bar added the perfect amount of fruity sweetness to our S’mores. A different twist on the traditional and very DELICIOUS! The family gobbled them all down within a few minutes. We are looking forward to trying the additional flavors that the company sent.
