Over the past 12 years I’ve published hundreds of different arts and craft projects on the TCC blog. Many of those projects have included painting and decorating seashells. A lot of readers have commented or written to me that they’re not good at artistic painting. Well…that’s okay! You can use other things to decorate those painted seashells.

Last month I purchased the Beach Ocean Marine Life Rub-On Transfers from Amazon to show you how easy they are to use! Not only easy…but you can decorate a LOT of painted seashells with just one pack which contains 12 sheets. These transfers are perfect for your medium to large sized clam shells. You can use them in other arts and craft projects too.
Here’s how I personally use them on my seashells. I cut the design off of the sheet. I then position the decal on the shell to find the right position that I want. I then peel off the backing sheet. Place the transfer down. Use a popsicle stick to rub the transfer onto the seashell. Then simply pull the top sheet off. That’s it…easy!
When using them on your painted seashells you want to make sure the paint is thoroughly dry. I let them sit overnight. Second…don’t apply them on a severly bumpy or rigid shell. They work best on smooth surfaces. Once the transfer is in place…I do recommend that you seal it by applying 1-2 light coats of Clear Mod Podge Sealer over-the-top. That protects the design. If you don’t want to use a brush-on sealer you can certainly use a spray-on. Let them thoroughly dry!!!
This post shows you a few that I recently made using transfers from the pack I purchased from Amazon. They make decorating your painted seashells easy and fun! To accent the transfers I simply painted on faux sand, coral reefs, etc. using Acrylic Paint Markers. You can buy those from Amazon too.
