Damaging Your Skin by Using Way too Many Skincare Products

July 22, 2025 by Classystaff

These days…every where you look you’re being told you have to use XYZ product for this and ABC product for that. You can’t open a magazine, visit social media, watch home shopping channels, read a blog, etc. without someone telling you that you need to use a gazillion different skincare products to help fix whatever problem that you’re having.

Well, I’m here to tell you that you can damage your skin by using way too many skincare products. It’s not just about using the right products but it’s also about adopting the less is more product attitude. Slapping on this cream, washing your face with that gel, using a face masque for 30 minutes, whatever…can do more harm than good.

Dermatologists have seen an uptick in patients coming into their offices with complaints of rashes, dry skin, sores, blisters, skin burns, redness and all sorts of other issues. In some of these cases it’s because the patient is using too many products!!! The more products we are told to use the more money these companies make. Seriously!

You really only need a few daily skincare products to keep your skin looking nice. A good cleanser, moisturizer, a mild anti-aging serum, a good sunscreen and maybe 2 other things. There are women out there using 12+ different products a day! Ridiculous! Use just a few at a time. You can rotate products in and out as necessary but there’s no need to be using a dozen products on your face. NONE.

Part of being beautiful is to accept the aging process and to LOVE who you are and how you look! It’s not about changing your looks to look like someone else or to look 30 years younger than your real age. No! Whatever happened to natural beauty and aging gracefully? Well, I’m all about that!

I’m not against using skincare products…heaven’s no, I use them. I’m against women using too many, wasting their money and doing damage to their skin. That’s what I’m against. Love YOURSELF for who you are and for who you look like!!!
