Baked beans are a classic recipe that we make and serve at almost every family get-together or backyard barbecue. It’s flavorful and very easy to make. We use canned beans (not dry) to make it. You can put all of the ingredients into your slow cooker to cook it or into a casserole dish in your oven. Either way, it comes out delicious.

Classic Baked Beans Recipe
2 (16 ounce) cans baked beans with pork
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
4 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
3 slices bacon, chopped
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large casserole dish or in your slow cooker EXCEPT for the bacon slices. You’ll want to chop up the bacon slices and place them on top.
If you’re baking it in the oven…set the oven at 350 degrees and bake for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If you want it to get done sooner…use 375 degrees F. If you are using the slow cooker…cook them on the high setting for 1 hour then turn it down to the low setting to cook for 3-4 additional hours or until done.
Store all leftovers in a covered dish in your refrigerator. Leftovers do freeze well once cooled. So don’t be afraid to freeze some for a later use. When thawing…thaw overnight in the refrigerator. You can then reheat via the stove-top, oven or microwave.
