For the past month we’ve had 4 Canadian Geese hanging out in our yard. There’s a male and female that have taken up residence in the front yard and a male and female who are hanging out in the back yard. We have no idea where these geese came from but obviously they like it here. We’ve had them visit in the past but only for a day or two.
One of the things that has really surprised me is how “people friendly” these four geese are. They’re not bothered one bit if we’re outside sitting on the porch, in our swimming pool or doing other things outside. Matter of fact, two of the four will come right up to you…only a foot or two away. They’re not afraid of humans at all.
We’ve been keeping an eye on them. All four look to be healthy and are of a good weight. None of them have any type of injuries on them at all. Real shocker…they’re not interested in jumping into our swimming pool either. They seem just content to hang out in our yard….enjoying the summertime weather.
I don’t know anything about this species of animal but it has been fascinating to watch them the past few weeks. Funny thing is this…the four of them don’t hang out together. Nope! Just two in the front yard and two in the back yard. Guess they’re not partying together at this time!
