The past few years we’ve been watching them add new shipping containers to the one amusement pier on the boardwalk in Wildwood. They’ve been recycling old metal shipping containers into beautiful pieces of outdoor street art. We love mural-style outdoor street art!
Last year we were there while they were working on one of the shipping containers. We watched two artists prepping the container on one day…the very next day they started painting it with the new design. We were there for the week and after a few days they had all four sides plus the roof done! Some of the design was spray painted and other parts were done with paint brush. It was cool to see their progress every day.
I think this is a very cool and worthy project. I believe they call it the ART BOX Shipping Containers Project or something like that. A good way to recycle them and to add some beauty to the local area. They put several containers together to form the Curley’s french fries stand. Another shipping container hosts a carnival style game. I was told several others are for storage.
We will be heading down to Wildwood next month and I’m hoping to see few new additions. If so, I grab more pictures!
