How to Clean the Range Hood and Filter Quickly and Easily

How to Clean the Range Hood and Filter Quickly and EasilyCleaning the range hood and filter is one of my least favorite household chores to do. If you want it to be a quick and easy process you need to clean them often…at least once every 8-10 weeks. The grease and grime that builds up on the hood and the filter is unbelievable and can be hard to clean up. Until now. Let me tell you how I get them clean!

A year ago I discovered Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray and have been using it ever since. Yes, it’s great for cleaning your dishes but it’s also great at cleaning things around your home. I like to use it to clean my sinks, tile, back splashes, stove-top, counter-tops, glass shower doors and all sorts of other things.

When I was doing my spring cleaning last month I used it to give my range hood and filter a good overall cleaning! I was completely done with that task within minutes thanks to the power of the Dawn Platinum Powerwash Spray.

Stove-Top Range Hood Filter Cleaning Tips

Range Hood – Spray the product directly onto a damp cloth. I like to use Swedish Dish Cloths for this task. It acts like a cleaning cloth and sponge all-in-one. Wipe down the outside and inside of the hood…making sure you get into all of the nooks and crannies. Go back over it with a clean damp cloth and then let it air dry. If you get water spots…just buff those out with a clean cotton towel.

Hood Filter – Remove the filter from the hood. Place it into your kitchen sink. Spray it down with hot tap water. Spray it with Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray. I was generous in the amount that I used. Let it sit in the sink for about 10 minutes then rinse with clean running water. It removed all of the grease and grime without the need for scrubbing! I like to use a clean cotton towel to lightly dry it. Let it fully air dry before placing it back up into the range hood.

Stove Top – You can spray the product on a damp cotton cloth and wipe down the top of your stove-top, glass oven door, handles, knobs, etc. It does a really nice job at removing grease, grime and food particles.
