What’s the Difference Between Honda Accord LX vs. EX?

May 28, 2025 by Sam H.

Honda has truly made a name for itself in the automotive industry, and it has become a household name at this point. Based on the latest reports, almost half of the 20 best-selling vehicles in America come from this long-running brand, and three of its vehicles are currently among the top 10. Honda is also the third-largest automotive brand in the world, selling more than 3.7 million vehicles globally last year. That figure only accounts for new models. With used models factored into the equation, its sales surpass 5 million units per year.

Accord Enters the Mix

Though Honda has produced several models that appeal to the public, the Accord is one of the most popular. It first appeared on the American automotive market back in 1977, and its fame has only been building since then. Over time, several iterations of the Accord have been released, and a variety of trim levels have been made available to car buyers. Right now, the LX and EX are among the most highly sought after at dealerships like northside ford san antonio. What sets the two apart from each other? Read on to learn more.

Taking a Closer Look at Honda Accord LXs and EXs

Both the Accord LX and EX are fantastic vehicles that live up to Honda’s reputation for reliability, longevity, performance, efficiency, safety, and other qualities. Both are sedans as well, and they offer plenty of interior room and cargo space for their size. They’re both equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that puts out 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. That being said, the LX is the base model, and the EX is a higher trim level. With that being the case, there are a few differences between the two.

Pricing

One of the main differences between the Accord LX and EX is their price. As the base model, the LX costs around $27,000 to $28,000. In contrast, the LX generally costs about $2,000 to $3,000 more.

Wheels

Wheels are another difference between these trim levels. Both have 17-inch alloy wheels, but the EX’s wheels have a machined finish. That gives them a slightly more high-end look.

Technology

Next, we’ll compare their technology. Both have Bluetooth and USB connectivity. They also have an array of driver-assist features, including automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control along with several others. The EX, though, offers wireless phone charging, an upgraded audio system with more speakers, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its touchscreen is an inch larger than that of the LX too.

Other Features

Whereas the LX has single-zone climate control, the EX offers dual-zone capabilities. At the same time, the EX comes with heated front seats and a power moonroof. It also has upgraded upholstery and other interior materials for a more premium look and feel.

Choosing Between the Accord LX and EX

No matter which Honda vehicle you choose, you’re sure to be pleased with it. The Accord is no exception. It offers all the features and amenities you need and want. While the LX and EX have many of the same features, there are certain differences to consider. Since the EX is a higher trim level, it naturally comes with a few extras you can’t get on the LX. Those added features cost a bit more, but if you’re looking for a more premium package, they’re well worth the cost.
