The Beautiful Cherry Blossom Tree
Every year in late March through early April we’re treated to the beauty from the cherry blossom trees that grow in our area. We see them in a wide variety of different colors – white, light pink, vivid pink and a pinkish red color. They always bloom in the early springtime along with our daffodils and hyacinths. One of the first trees to add color to the surrounding landscape.
One thing that I noticed recently is that some varieties of the cherry blossom tree will give off a faint vanilla fragrance. The three located on our office property definitely give off that fragrance. I can smell it nicely on a breezy day. Nice having a scent like that in our outdoor air…although I’m sure allergy sufferers don’t appreciate it.
As I drove through the community last weekend I saw at least 40 different cherry blossom trees in full bloom. It’s a beautiful sight to see! One of my favorite trees!
