You can create your art on just about any surface: art canvas, smooth rocks, large seashells, wood boards, ceramics, glass and other surfaces. You really don’t need any type of artistic talent to begin paint pouring. What you do need are just a few essentials to get you started.
In the past when I wanted to work on a project I had to mix an acrylic paint pouring medium in with the acrylic paint that I was using. It can be messy plus you have to get the ratio correct for the paint to flow freely. You don’t want it too thick nor too runny.
Two months ago I stumbled upon the Pre-Mixed Metallic Acrylic Paint Pouring Set over on Amazon and purchased it. I love working with metallic colored acrylic paint. What I love about this particular paint set is that the pouring medium is already mixed in with the paint! The vibrant metallic colors are absolutely beautiful.
Each bottle comes with a flip-open top which is easy to use. You need to give each bottle a good shake (shake well) before using that way you’re mixing up the color with the pouring medium that is inside. You want to do that EVERY TIME before using them. There’s no foul paint odors while using this paint, so you can indeed use it while indoors.
I like to squirt the colors that I’m using into a little plastic medicine cup. Once in the cup I give it a gentle swirl to combine them a little bit. You can also pour it each color into a separate cup and apply them one at a time. It really depends on the look you’re going for and the surface you’re painting. Above you can see a large 5″ wide seashell that I painted using these paints! They’re fantastic!!!
