Spoon Rests are a must-have in my kitchen. I use them every day to hold my dirty utensils while I’m cooking, baking and canning. They help to protect my kitchen counter-tops and keep the dirty messes contained in one area…on the spoon rest! They save me time when it comes to cleaning too!

I have several that are made out of stoneware and several that are made out of melamine plastic. I like to keep the ones made out of stoneware on top of my stove-top while I’m cooking (away from the hot burner). The ones that are made out of melamine are kept on my kitchen counter-tops. Plastic is something I don’t recommend storing or using on a hot stove-top.

This spoon rest is the perfect size for holding small and large spoons, spatulas, whisks, wands, etc. I will place my hand mixer beaters on it too….to keep batter from dripping all over my counter-tops when I’m baking. It’s top-rack dishwasher safe…although I hand wash mine when needed. You never want to place melamine in a microwave as it does retain heat…so no microwave! Another great benefit…they don’t stain. I’ve never had one that retained food stains!
