Every 4-5 weeks I like to get a new cat toy for our boy Romeo to play with. Just like children, kitty cats get tired of playing with the same toys. You need to switch them out to keep them excited and entertained. They need physical exercise on a daily basis along with mind stimulation. Play time is an important part to keeping your pet happy and healthy.

Last week I purchased the SmartyKat Twirly Top Electronic Spinning Ball Cat Toy from Amazon. It’s erratic spinning motion drives cats wild…along with stimulating their natural hunting instinct. It comes ready to play with right out of the package. Batteries included. You simply just turn it on!
Exercise is necessary to keep cats metally alert, physically fit and at a healthy weight. Toys that encourage running, chasing and swatting turn playtime into a fun workout for your furry friend.
Turn it on by pressing the button. Then sit it down onto the floor. It will work on hard surfaces and some low-pile carpeted surfaces. The ball spins and wobbles which gets your cat’s attention and encourages them to swat at it. Sticking out of the top you’ll see the tassle…that encourages swatting and stimulates their natural hunting instinct.
We like to activate it and let Romeo play with it for about 10-15 minutes at a time every 2-3 days. We rotate his toys in and out…which also helps to keep your cat from getting bored. If you have leftover toys that you’re changing out…consider cleaning & disinfecting them at that time. You can pack away for next month or donate to your favorite cat rescue group.
