Billboards: A Valuable Form of Advertising or an Eyesore
Billboards are a form of affordable advertising for many businesses. You’ll find them everywhere…from downtown inner city areas, the suburbs, highways and along country roads. With that said, how many of you even read them? Do you pay any attention to them?
While on a recent 250 mile road trip we were discussing billboards while we were traveling. These days you can find some really eye-catching ones with flashing lights, rolling screens, changing digital images and messages, and other things. Then there’s the plain Jane ones that most people don’t even notice.
You can find anything and everything advertised on them. I’ve seen health & beauty products, legal services, human services hotlines, political advertisements, restaurants, tourist attractions, health and medical services, animal welfare ads, business products and services…all kinds of different things.
With that said…do you find billboards to be a good source of valuable information? Are they a distraction when you’re driving? Are they an eyesore to the landscape? What’s your opinion of having millions and millions of billboards across America?
