We live in the suburbs and once or twice a year we’ll see a blimp flying around above our home. We’re about 20 minutes from a major airport, so it’s not uncommon, but indeed rare. If you live in a larger city, I’m sure you see them a lot more often than we do.
A few weeks ago I was outside doing yard work and getting some debris cleaned up. All of a sudden I saw a big flock of birds take off from a wooded area at the back of our property. It was strange and caught my eye. I look up into the sky and what do I see? A low-flying blimp! Yes, it was low and you could really get a good look at it. Not only could you see it…but you could hear it!
That blimp caused quite the excitement in our neighborhood that day. It was up there circling around for about 30-40 minutes. Just about everyone was outside looking at it.
So, here’s my question for today. If given the opportunity would you want to take a ride in a blimp? Personally, no. I’m happy with keeping my feet firmly planted on the ground.
