These handcrafted strawberry ornaments are made out of felt. They can be used as package tie-ons, hung on the Christmas tree, or hung from a peg knob in your home. If you decorate in a country or primitive style you could make several of them and place them in a bowl (minus the hanging ribbon) and use as a home decor accent. They’re not just for the holidays!
Twelve years ago I had started an arts and craft blog called Passionate About Crafting. Some of you may remember it. I gave up the blog a few years ago so that I could focus solely on TCC and our Travel Blog. Anyway, instead of re-typing all of the instructions and getting a slew of new photographs, here’s the LINK to my original post on that blog. It gives you step-by-step instructions with photos on how to make them.
For the one that I made last weekend I used red and green craft felt, a little bit of fiberfill stuffing, and little white seed beads. You can use a sewing machine to assemble them but you can also do all of the sewing by hand. The one shown above was completely sewn by hand and turned out nicely. Don’t want to mess with seed beads? You could use white embroidery floss and hand-stitch the seeds onto the red felt.
My one aunt decorates her kitchen in a strawberry theme and asked me to make 8 of them for her kitchen. I have 5 done so far. She’s going to place them in a vintage wood bowl to display them. Of course, I’m making them minus the ribbon hanging cord. A very easy and inexpensive craft project!
