Easy Pigs in a Blanket Recipe with a Twist

November 7, 2024 by Classystaff

Easy Pigs in a Blanket Recipe with a TwistPigs in a Blanket are a top requested treat by the kids in my household. Okay, I admit. The adults who live here enjoy eating them too! The great thing is…they’re easy-to-prepare and bake up quickly. You can add all kinds of different condiments to ramp up the flavor along with various type’s of cheese.

The 2 basic ingredients that you’ll need are a pack of hot dogs and a roll of refrigerated crescent rolls. After that…the additions are all up to you!

Here are some of the additions we like to use:

Sliced American Cheese
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Sliced Cheddar Cheese
Sweet Barbecue Sauce
Honey Mustard
Ketchup
Relish
Chopped Onions
Finely Chopped Pickles
Melted Butter or Honey Butter (see note below)

Place a silicone non-stick baking mat on top of your baking sheet to prevent sticking. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate. I like to brush one side of the dough with a little bit of melted butter. Place the hot dog on top and roll the dough around the hot dog.

Now…if you want to add any of the additions I listed above you’ll do that before rolling up the hot dog. You want everything to be encased inside the dough.

Follow the instructions on the package of crescent rolls for baking. I like to personally preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake for 10-14 minutes depending on the thickness of the hot dogs and the extras you toss in. They’re done with the dough has puffed up and is a light golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve.
