For the past 7 years I’ve been sharing hundreds of easy-to-make arts and craft projects on the Two Classy Chics blog. All of the projects that we share are easy and affordable. We believe that crafting shouldn’t cost a fortune! Today, I’m sharing 8 decoupage and painted beach themed seashells and rocks with you. I won’t be describing each of them in full detail but giving you a summary of the design. You can refer to the photograph in the post.

First…you’ll need to collect clam shells and smooth river rocks for this project. Wash them in warm, soapy water using Dawn Liquid Dish Soap. It’s the best for removing dirt, sand, debris and fishy odors. Rinse with clean water. Air dry them overnight.
You’ll need a few basic arts and craft supplies to make these designs which is listed below:
Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Sticker Packs
BETEM Acrylic Paint Markers with Dual Tips (see below)
Clear Mod Podge Sealer, Glossy Finish
Foam Brush
Gorilla Glue
You can pick up inexpensive stickers and scrapbooking embellishments at your local Dollar Tree Store or from Amazon. When selecting stickers…select ones with a clear outline & backing. It blends better on the painted seashell. Don’t select those gel or puffy stickers which look awful on this type of project and don’t adhere well.
Do all of the background painting first. I like to use acrylic paint with a paint brush to do large area painting. Let it dry. Then do all of your decorative work on top. You can use BETEM Acrylic Paint Markers (which I recommend) that have dual-ended tips (a medium and a fine). They don’t require priming, no leaks, drips or foul paint odors. Plus, they dry quickly!
When applying stickers and scrapbooking embellishments you need to really tack them down good. The adhesive on them is NOT strong enough. You need to adhere them with a tad of Gorilla Glue or use the Mod Podge to adhere them to the seashell. Once they’re dry and in-place…you need to fully seal the artwork and paint with a good coat of Clear Mod Podge Sealer. I find this works better than a spray. Use a foam brush to apply it. Let the shells dry overnight.
