You’ll find many boardwalks and promenades up and down the New Jersey coastline. They all have a different vibe, at least in my opinion. Over the decades I’ve visited many of them. You’ll find gift shopping, arcades, various tourist attractions, amusement rides, restaurants and diners, ice cream shops, mini golf and more. One thing is for sure…you can have a lot of fun when visiting a boardwalk!
With all of that said, my absolutely FAVORITE boardwalk in New Jersey is the one in Wildwood. It has something for everyone to enjoy no matter your age! You’ll find arcades, amusement rides, waterparks, go-kart racing, miniature golf, t-shirt shops, souvenir stores, kitchen shops, restaurants & diners, coffee shops, pizza places, ice cream parlors, tattoo parlors, piercing huts and so much more!
We’re older, so we like to avoid the crowds up on the boardwalk. We go up early in the evening when post people are still out enjoying their dinner. We also like to go during the less busy times of the year like in early June or late September. Matter of fact, those are the best times to visit the south Jersey Shore! The crowds are greatly descreased and almost everything is still open…especially on the weekends.
Some of our favorite places to visit up on the boardwalk are: Gateway 26 for arcade games, Morey’s Piers for amusement rides, Mack’s Pizza for a quick bite to eat, 3D miniature golf, Shorelines (for coastal & beach home decor), if you’re looking for a new tattoo we recommend visiting Oxygen, Douglas Candies and the Fudge Kitchen for chocolate confections, fudge and candy…and let’s not forget about Curley’s for the best French Fries in the world!
