Just because the Autumn season is here…doesn’t mean that your beach vacations have to end. Matter of fact, Fall is one of the nicest times to visit the beach…especially the beaches in South Jersey. Every year we like to visit Wildwood, Cape May and Stone Harbor during the month of October. Why? I’m going to tell you!
* Majority of the tourists aren’t there!
* Majority of attractions and restaurants are still open!
* Kids are back in school.
* Plenty of room on the beaches!
* Parking is readily available.
* Great time to go for beach walks.
* Shell collecting is awesome during this time of the year.
* Enjoy local fall festivities.
* Much more affordable! Hotel, Motel and B&B Costs are about 1/2 of the price during the off-peak season.
* Sun isn’t as bright or as intense! Cooler temperatures and less humidity allows you to enjoy the outdoors.
* More relaxing vacation!!!
My wife is a sheller and collects seashells. She paints on them and crafts with them. She’s really passionate about those seashells. During the fall season is a great time to go and collect those shells. You always want to go out during low tide or after a big storm has rolled through. She loads up on seashells so that she can stay busy throughout the winter season using them.
Here’s a few things to remember. Even though the temperatures are down and the sun isn’t as intense…you still need to wear sunscreen and apply it often when you’re hanging out at the beach. You can get a sunburn any time of the year! During the fall you want to bring a mixture of clothing along with you. Shorts, capris and tees for the warmer daytime hours and pants, hoodies and long-sleeve shirts for the cooler temps during the evening.
If you’ve never visited the south Jersey Shore areas during the Fall season you’re really missing out. It’s one of the best times of the year to go!
