Last week I purchased 2 full racks of ribs from the local butcher shop. Yes, they were running a special. Once I got home I knew immediately that I wanted to whip up this homemade barbecue sauce recipe BBQ Sauce to brush onto the ribs. It’s a sweet sauce that is just a tad spicy. Nothing mouth burning at all.
If you like the sauce on the sweeter side you can increase the honey. If you like it a tad more spicier you can increase the hot pepper sauce. It’s all about getting it to suit your own taste buds. You can easily adjust the ingredients to suit your own needs.

Delicious Homemade Barbecue Sauce for Ribs
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1-2 Tbsp. honey
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. ground paprika
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Place all of the above ingredients into a blender container and blend until smooth. Place 2/3 of the sauce in a marinating container. Place the ribs inside. Use a spoon to cover the ribs on all sides in the sauce. Cover the container. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Place the remaining 1/3 of the sauce into a small bowl and refrigerate.
When you’re ready to grill…remove the ribs and the extra bowl of sauce from the refrigerator 30 minutes before tossing them onto the grill. Towards the end of the cooking process, brush the remaining 1/3 barbecue sauce all over the ribs. Continuing grill until they’re done.
