Honey BBQ Sauce Recipe for Grilled Chicken Wings

September 17, 2024 by Sam H.

Honey BBQ Sauce Recipe for Grilled Chicken WingsThis honey barbecue sauce recipe is for those who like their chicken wings more on the sweeter side than the spicy side. Everyone in my family enjoys this recipe including the kids. They won’t touch spicy foods. Once you have the bbq sauce prepared you’ll want to marinate the chicken wings in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to infuse.

Recipe will season 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. of chicken wings…depending upon their size.

Honey BBQ Sauce Recipe for Chicken Wings

1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1/4 cup hot water
2 dashes liquid smoke flavoring
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 to 1/3 cup honey
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
chicken wings

In a large mixing bowl or marinating container combine together all of the above ingredients except for the chicken wings. Stir until everything is combined together. Add-in the chicken wings. Use a spoon to move the wings around to make sure that they’re covered in the sauce. Cover the bowl or container.

Refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours or overnight. Remove and let sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before placing them onto a hot grill. Grill them until done. (You can also bake them in the oven too). They’re done when the juices run clear. Not sure? Use a digital meat thermometer to check for the correct doneness. We like the skin to be a little extra-crispy. Once done, serve them immediately.
