As a retired healthcare worker I believe every home, every vehicle and every person should carry a first aid kit. The home and vehicle should have full-size kits while the one that you want to carry on you should be a mini kit like the one that I’m featuring today. First Aid kits are a neccessity and they make great birthday gifts, back-to-school items (including college students to keep in their dorms) and holiday Christmas gifts.
For this review I received the Keep>Going First Aid Mini Kit for Families on-the-go. Here’s what the mini kit includes:
Metal Tweezers (1)
Splinter Remover (1)
Standard Fabric Bandages (16)
Small Fabric Bandages (6)
XL Fabric Bandages (2)
Knuckle Fabric Bandages (2)
Fingertip Fabric Bandages (2)
Butterfly Closures (2)
Triple Antibiotic Ointment (4)
Hydrocortisone Cream (2)
Non-Sting Cleansing Wipes (6)
Sting Relief Pads (4)
Lip Balm Packet (1)
Small Polybag (1)
Children’s Stickers (10)
Plus…everything is stored inside an adorable storage case featuring a zipper closure. There’s a hanging clip so that you or a child can clip it onto a backpack, gym bag, travel or tote bag, etc.
I went through the entire mini first aid kit. I’m impressed that you get fabric bandages and not those nasty plastic ones that always fall off! Fabric is definitely the way to go. The mini kit includes everything you would need for a minor emergency such as a scrape, minor cut, bruise, bug bits, a bee sting (for a non-allergic individual), etc. including the Triple Antibiotic Ointment and Hydrocortisone Cream. Impressive! If I could make one suggestion…it would be to include 1-3 mini packets of 100% aloe vera. Aloe is a great natural treatment…especially for minor burns like sunburn.
Our 15 year old granddaughter plays softball for 2 different teams. She’s constantly on-the-go to practices and games. On top of that, she spends a lot of time outdoors riding bikes, scooters, roller blading, hiking, swimming, etc. A very active teenager who will be getting her driver’s permit in just 8 short months. Oh my!!! Anyway, I sat down with her and showed her the First Aid Mini Kit. I explained to her what the items were and how they can be used. I left her ask questions and familiarize herself with the kit contents. Afterwards, I gifted it to her!
Granddaughter keeps the Keep>Going Mini First Aid Kit clipped to her gym bag that goes with her every day to school for those softball practices and games. After the season concludes she’s going to clip it to her backpack. Not only is this a must-have item…it’s cute to carry around! Once it gets used…I can refill it myself or go to Keep>Going to purchase refills which I find extremely convenient to do!
