I use our Cuisinart Automatic Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Maker 3-4 times a week during the summertime. If you don’t own one…I highly recommend it. It’s so easy to use! You can check out my unbiased and honest opinion on the Cuisinart Frozen Ice Cream Maker by checking out my previous post that I wrote on it. I’ve owned my machine for several years!!!

Just last week I whipped up a batch of homemade chocolate ice cream. It’s one of our favorite ice cream recipes from the Cuisinart Recipe Booklet (came with our machine). Makes about 5 cups, ten 1/2 cup servings. Love strawberry? Check out our post on Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe for that.
Classic Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe
3/4 cup cocoa powder, sifted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
pinch of salt
1 cup whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar and pinch of salt. Add the milk. Using an electric hand mixer on low speed, beat to combine the ingredients. Stir in the heavy cream and pure vanilla extract. Cover the bowl. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or overnight.
Turn the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker on. Pour the mixture into the frozen freezer bowl and let mix until thickened, about 15-20 minutes. The ice cream will have a soft, creamy texture. If you want it firmer…transfer to an airtight container and place in the freezer for about 2 hours. Remove from the freezer 15 minutes before serving.
