It’s the time of the year when all of our apples are coming into season! I always enjoy getting the family together to go apple picking. Lucky for us, we have 2 large apple trees in our backyard! We plan an entire afternoon picking apples and then celebrate our haul with a pizza party as a reward for our hard work. It’s not easy getting up on ladders to get the very best apples!
Last weekend we filled up 4 large boxes of apples. I’m going to be home canning and preserving them. It will take me a week just to get 1-2 boxes done. In the meantime, I store them in a cool, dry and dark place down in our basemet to keep them from over-rippening too fast.
