A lot of people think that it’s hard to make homemade fudge. Well, I’m here to tell you that its not! You need to use a no-fail recipe and high-quality ingredients. Don’t skimp on them and follow the listed cooking times exactly as stated to get expert results.
Once the fudge has cooled and set…you’ll want to cut it into squares. Place those squares in an airtight container. This fudge freezes well too. I like to freeze it in a small freezer storage container. Then I can thaw out the exact pieces that I want at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
No-Fail Chocolate Walnut Fudge Recipe
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 cups granulated sugar
5 ounces canned evaporated milk
10 large marshmallows
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
Lightly grease an 8″ by 8″ square baking dish with butter. Set aside.
In a medium sized mixing bowl blend together the softened butter, chocolate chips and pure vanilla extract.
Using a large saucepan over medium heat…combine the granulated sugar, evaporated milk and marshmallows. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a silicone spatula. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for an additional 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat and remove.
Pour marshmallow mixture over the ingredients in the mixing bowl. Beat entire mixture until it thickens and loses its gloss. I use an electric hand mixer for this step. Quickly fold in the finely chopped walnuts until distributed throughout the fudge batter.
Pour all of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Cover. Place into the refrigerator for 3-6 hours or overnight until the fudge is firm.
