I love whipping up a homemade fruit smoothie and enjoying it for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Fruit smoothies are a great way to incorporate more fruits into your daily diet. For this recipe you can use fresh or partially-thawed (from frozen) blueberries. You only need a few ingredients to make it. It’s a recipe that I got off my Cool Whip Frozen Whipped Topping container and use it all of the time! The recipe yields 1 serving, so free to double-up ingredients if you’re making two.
Variations: You can use any type of berries that you have on hand. Examples would be mulberries, blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, blackberries, red raspberries, etc. or a combination of berries to make a mixed berry flavor.
Easy Blueberry Fruit Smoothie Recipe
3/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup thawed, Cool Whip Reduced Fat Whipped Topping
1 cup frozen (or fresh) unsweetened blueberries
Place all 3 of the above ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
Notes: If you like the consistency to be more like soft-serve ice cream you can place it into the freezer for 30 minutes. If you like a little “sweeter” taste you can add a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of organic raw honey to sweeten it up when blending.
I will often make several up at a time and pour into heavy-duty ceramic mugs. Cover the mugs and place into the freezer. My husband and I can grab-n-go over the next 1-3 days as needed.
