Oh…do I have something cool to show you today! We went to a local arts and crafts festival and guess what we had the opportunity to do? Well, we watched a local craftsman make handmade brooms! Yes, old-fashioned handmade brooms! You know…the kind of brooms that our grandparents and great-grandparents used!
We stopped by the Jeff Heilman Handmade Brooms tent to watch a broom being made. Amazing that it’s put together right there on the spot with no big machinery. When they say handmade…it truly is! It was fascinating to stand there watching him make a broom. I had never seen one being made before. Very talented!
I admit…after watching him make a broom….I went shopping and purchased two brooms for our home. I use one to sweep the front porch and sidewalk and the smaller broom that I purchased is perfect for keeping the back deck clean. You hardly ever see these type’s of things being made nor being sold these days. What a fantastic day!
whoops meant to type homemade.
I love this post and I love going to local markets like this one. I have never seen a homemake broom before that’s cool..
