Maple Barbecue BBQ Sauce Recipe for Chicken Wings

May 7, 2024 by Sam H.

In the northeast our grilling season lasts for approximately 9 months out of the year. Sometimes we get lucky with mild weather days during the winter which I take advantage of too. I’m not fond of cooking and baking, but I do love to use my barbecue grill. Just as long as wife does the dishes!

This Maple Barbecue Sauce recipe is super easy-to-make. It’s delicious on chicken wings, things, breasts or legs. I personally love using it on chicken wings. You’ll want to whip up enough of the BBQ sauce to coat the wings. Marinate them in a container in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to allow the flavors to infuse. Remove and let them sit on the countertop while your grill heats up.

1 full bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce
2-3 Tbsp. Maple Syrup

Pour the bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce into a marinading container or a large baking dish. Add the maple syrup, stirring them together until combined. Add in the chicken wings, stirring them around to get them completely coated in the sauce. Cover. Refrigerate for 3+ hours. (see above).

You can arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on a baking sheet and place into a preheated 350 degrees F. oven until done or you can toss the chicken wings onto a preheated and hot grill. I prefer to grill them! The baking and grilling time will vary. Just cook until the meat is done.

We finally have a sunny and warm weekend, so it is a grilling day. This looks delicious and I already have the ingredients in my pantry.
