This homemade bbq sauce recipe is perfect for pork or beef ribs. It’s easy to make and is jam-packed with flavor. You may need to make a double batch depending on how many racks of ribs that your cooking. I like to reserve a little bit of the barbecue sauce to brush onto the ribs halfway through the cooking process. You’ll want to toss any leftover sauce when you’re finished.
Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe for Ribs
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup catsup
1 cup sweet barbecue sauce
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Measure out all of the above ingredients into a blender container. Cover and blend until smooth. Brush the sauce on all sides of the ribs coating them well. You can roast or grill them until done.
Notes: The barbecue sauce can be blended up ahead of time. Just place it into a container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. This sauce is equally as good on chicken. When I use it on chicken I like to marinate the chicken in the sauce (refrigerated) for 3-4 hours before tossing them onto my grill.
