Easy Grilled Beer Can Chicken Recipe

1 Medium Whole Chicken
1/2 Can of a Lite Beer
2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
1 Tbsp. Dried Thyme
1 tsp. Dried Oregano

Remove the giblets pack from inside the chicken. Place the salt, ground black pepper, dried Thyme and dried Oregano in a small bowl. Stir to combine the seasonings. Rub the bird with the olive oil on all sides. Rub the seasonings on next. If you are using a large bird…you may have to double up the seasonings. Be generous if you like a lot of flavor.

You’re only using a 1/2 can of the lite beer. Lower the bird onto the can so that it’s sitting on it in an upright position.

Place onto the preheated grill on indirect heat. Cover the lid. You’ll want to check on it about every 40 minutes or so to check for the doneness. It typically takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete the cooking process. The inside juices should run clear. Use a meat thermometer if necessary to check the doneness. Remove. Carve up and serve immediately.
