Are you hosting a child’s birthday party in a Safari Zoo Animals theme? If so, check out these easy-to-make and unique birthday party favors! You can make a dozen or so in just one weekend! Adorable party decorations that the kids can take home after the party.
You’ll need the following supplies to make them: 4″ wide clam shells, white acrylic craft paint, paint brush, safari zoo animal print paper napkins, foam brush, clear Mod Podge sealer, scissors, gold metallic paint marker and a black Sharpie marker.

Paint 2 coats of white acrylic craft paint (using a brush) on the outside of each clam shell. Allow for 30 minutes of drying time between coats. While the paint is drying use a pair of scissors to cut the images out of paper napkins. Most paper napkins are 2-ply…you only want the top layer of the napkin…discard the second layer. The image needs to fit onto the seashell, so keep that in mind.
One the paint is dry…use a foam brush to brush a thin layer of clear Mod Podge Sealer across the seashell. Place the animal image on top. Brush a second layer of clear Mod Podge Sealer on top. You need to cover the entire clam shell with the clear sealer. Use the foam brush to smooth out any wrinkles that occur from the paper napkin image. Let dry for 30-50 minutes.
To give each one a nice finished look…we trimmed out the edges on each shell with a gold metallic paint marker. It will take about an hour to dry. Once dry…flip the shell over. Use a black Sharpie Marker with a fine point to write any party information on the back side. You could write each child’s name, date, or whatever message you want. That’s it…you’re done!
