Briarpatch from University Games launches its new series of School Readiness games this Spring. The games utilize the company’s Play & Learn System as a fun way for children to develop early learning skills before they enter the classroom. These games are for kids ages 3 years and for 2-4 players. Designed to encourage active participation, foster a love for learning, and develop cognitive and social skills in a playful environment.

Hocus, Pocus, Everybody Focus is the game of now you see it, now you don’t. This particular game reinforces coordination as kids add and remove objects from the play area, matchematics as children enegage their spatial awareness and observation skills and social skills as they play fairly without peeking from behind their masks.
Game Includes:
21 objects
5 standees
4 wood objects
4 masks
spinner
instructions
Make learning magical. Observe the objects where they are located. Then, as other players cover their eyes with their masks, spin the spinner and add or remove objects. After saying “Hocus Pocus, Everybody Focus,” players remove their masks and guess what objects were added or removed to win them. The first player to collect 5 objects wins the game!
As a parent, I love quick games that utilize easy-to-understand concepts. There’s nothing complicated about this game, so your child will understand the game concept fairly quickly. My son has diagnosed ADHD, so it’s a good game to try to help him to sit still and to focus. Another thing I appreciate about the game is that it doesn’t come with hundreds of little pieces. Just a few and everything stores nicely within the box.
We sat down last weekend to play Hocus Pocus, Everybody Focus and we really enjoyed it. My son enjoyed playing it so much that we actually played it 3 times that afternoon. It’s a cute little game that is fun to play. Plus, it’s small enough (compact in size) that if you’re traveling this spring & summer you can take it along with you. Perfect for vacations or weekends at Grandma’s house.
