Cleaning the microwave is one of my least favorite things to do. Since my wife broke her hand that chore has been left for me to do. Not only does a dirty mircorwave look bad but it’s unhealthy too! I don’t think anyone wants to stand there for an hour giving it a good scrub out. Okay, at least I don’t.

Four weeks ago I bought one of those microwave splatter covers and gave that a try. It was a brand that I had never heard of. I brought it home and we gave it a whirl. Well, within 2 weeks we tossed it out. It was flimsy and after just 2 weeks had already started to warp and get mis-shapened. What a piece of junk!
I went shopping on Amazon and found the Nordic Ware Microwave Splatter Covers and decided to buy that one. It arrived within 2 days (using Amazon Prime) and we gave that one a try. Well, I’m happy to report that we love it! It’s more substancial than the first one that we tried. It’s BPA and Melamine Free. Made in America by a family owned company that you can trust. A name brand that you know!
This spatter cover will fit 10″ dinner platers and the bacon grill plate (which I’m going to order next). It keeps the splatters contained and has a vented design to allow the steam to escape. For cleaning…you can hand wash in soapy water or place it in the dishwasher on the top rack. We’ve cleaned it both ways.
The days of having a messy microwave oven in our household are over! The days of standing there for an hour and scrubbing it clean are over!!! Not all microwave splatter covers are created equally. If you’ve been disappointed by the one you have or if you’re looking to buy one…I recommend giving the Nordic Ware Microwave Splatter Cover a try. It’s a winner in my book!

I had no idea that they even made these I so need these and soon. The paper towel doesn’t quite cut it anymore.
Interesting have not saw covers like these in years. Have to agree cleaning microwaves are a pain
I need this. I hate to reheat stew or pasta and have the sauce get all over the microwave. Looks like a good size to fit most everything.
