Have you ever dined at P.J. Whelihan’s restaurant? We finally had to the chance to go there for our Valentine’s Day dinner date. We’ve driven by the restuarant numerous times and never stopped in. Boy, were we missing out!
P.J. Whelihan’s reminds me of a sport’s bar, restaurant and pub all wrapped up into one. You can sit at the bar, at a table or in a booth. We chose a booth. We went during a weekday afternoon so they weren’t busy at all. There are numerous large TVs on running various sport’s games and horse racing if that’s your thing. I’m sure during big games and the weekends the atmosphere can get loud and rowdy.
We were seated quickly and handed the menu. There’s a lot to choose from. Something for everyone. I went for the bbq wings and fries. My wife enjoyed the chicken strips and sweet potato fries. She loves sweet potato fries and they’re hard to find around here. For our appetizer we shared a basket of soft pretzel nuggets with dipping sauce.
Everything that we tried that day was delicious! The hot foods were hot and the cold foods were cold. Really liked how much attention our waitress paid to us making sure we had everything we needed along with refills on our drinks. Attentive for sure! Overall, we were very impressed and will definitely be hitting up P.J. Whelihan’s for a future dinner date.
