Every year during the Christmas holiday season I make several batches of this delicious White Chocolate Christmas Chex Mix. It’s easy to make and the perfect take-along to holiday parties. Heck, it’s just perfect for snacking on at home. Once made you’ll want to store it in an airtight contianer to preserve the freshness.
When you’re out at the grocery store look for holiday-shaped thin pretzels to use in the recipe. If you can’t find them then I recommend using thin pretzel sticks or rounds. For the M&Ms Candies…I recommend using plain but other varieties work well too.
White Chocolate Christmas Chex Mix Recipe
4 cups Rice or Corn Chex Cereal (or a combo of both)
1 cup Cheerios Cereal
5 oz. pretzels (see note above)
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup M&Ms Candies
12 oz. bag of white chocolate chips
1 tsp. canola oil
Line a baking sheet with a non-stick silicone baking mat or with parchment paper. I personally like using my non-stick silicone baking mat. It’s perfect for this type of recipe. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl combine together the Chex and Cheerios Cereals, pretzels, salted peanuts, and M&Ms Candies until combined.
The next step requires the microwave. Place the white chocolate chips along with 1 tsp. canola oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave again at 20 second intervals, stirring in between each one until the chocolate has melted and is smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate into the cereal mix bowl. Use a large spoon or clean hands to mix everything together. You want to get everything coated with the melted chocolate. Pour out onto your prepared baking sheet into a single layer. You may need to use a large spoon or your hands. Don’t dump it into a large pile…both an even single layer across the sheet. Let cool.
Once the snack mix has cooled…break it up into smaller pieces and place into an airtight container.

I think that making mixes using cereals is fun and healthier than other mixes! I would try to add only red and green M&Ms for Christmas.
