Christmas Holiday Gnome Wall Decoration Re-Do

Christmas Holiday Gnome Wall Decoration Re-Do
Finished Project

Have you all seen the cute Christmas and Holiday wall decorations and decor at Dollar Tree? Oh my gosh, some of them are absolutely adorable! I love picking up holiday decor from Dollar Tree and bringing it home to use in various craft projects or just adding my own finishing touches to them to spruce them up. You know, make them look more expensive and fabulous!

I purchased 3 of the Welcome Gnome Holiday Wall Decorations from Dollar Tree. One for me, my mom and my adult daughter. We love gnomes! I knew when I saw them that I could make them look fabulous with a few items from my scrap box where I keep leftover items from other craft projects. The photograph below shows what it looked like before I made it over.

Christmas Holiday Gnome Wall Decoration Re-Do
BEFORE MAKEOVER

First…I used Modge Podge and brushed it onto the brims of each hat (the white area) and then sprinkled irridescent glitter on top while it was wet. Once dry, took it to my kitchen sink and shook off the excess. I added faux mauve half pearls (self-adhesive) to the center of each star on the one gnomes hat and in the center of the flower of the other gnomes hat. Peel, press, and stick!

Digging around in my scrap box I came across 2 pom-poms (white with irridescent sparkles) and used glue to attach them to the end of each hat. There are 4 white stars on the back ground and I added self-adhesive clear round rhinestones to the center of each one. Again, Peel, press, and stick!

One thing that I have a ton of is ribbon! All kinds of ribbon and in a gazillion different colors and prints. I simply made a bow for each wall hanging and glued it at the top.

You cna do all sorts of things to these inexpensive holiday wall hangings to make them your own. Add glitter, beads, sequins,  rhinestones, ribbon, faux pearls, stickers, paint, buttons, pom-poms, etc. Whatever you have on hand in your craft stash. I think they now look fabulous!
