Quick and Rewarding Crafts for Moms on the Go

November 17, 2023 by Sam H.

beaded jewelry necklacesLife as a busy mom often feels like a whirlwind. Between work, chores, driving the kids around, and attempting self-care, it can be hard to find time for fun, creative pursuits. But taking a little time for crafting can provide a sense of calm and accomplishment that all moms deserve. In this article, we’ll explore six quick and easy crafts that you can work into small pockets of time in your busy schedule.

1. Glass Jar Luminaries

Mason jars are inexpensive and easy to find. Turn them into beautiful luminaries in just a few minutes. Clean and dry a jar, then paint the inside with acrylic craft paint in your favorite color or pattern. Add battery-operated fairy lights, tea lights, or electric candles, and your peaceful glow is complete. Make a few at a time to light up your porch or pathways.

2. Nature Prints

Collect interesting leaves, flowers, and other natural items on your next walk. Dip them in paint and press onto paper to make beautiful nature prints. It’s a fun project you can do with kids that uses only the time it takes to gather materials and make prints. Hang in a cluster on the wall for an organic art display.

3. Framed Family Photos

Choose a few favorite family photos and frame them yourself for a personalized gallery wall. Buy simple frames and cut colorful scrapbook paper or wrapping paper to size. Adhere paper to the backing and assemble frames. Arrange framed photos on the wall in a creative cluster. This is an easy way to update your decor and highlight your loved ones.

4. Beaded Jewelry

Making beaded jewelry is a relaxing and rewarding craft. The wide selection of beautiful beads available online from online retailers like The Bead Traders means you can create endless unique earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Stock up on supplies like wire, crimps, and clasps. Then, follow simple tutorials to make chic and stylish pieces you’ll love wearing.

5. Custom Home Accessories

Add handmade touches to your home decor with easy additions like pillows, curtains, wall art, and more. Sew a simple pillow cover and add trim or buttons. Buy inexpensive curtains and hem them or add decorative beaded fringe. Make wall art from canvas, burlap, and paint or framed scrapbook paper. The ideas are limitless for making things that add beauty and personality to your home.

6. Decorative Wreaths

Craft a gorgeous seasonal wreath for your front door. Simply take a basic wreath form and embellish it with pretty ribbon, artificial flowers, leaves, or whatever inspires you. Customize for the season or a holiday. The options are endless for making your entryway more welcoming. Wreaths also make great gifts!

Making time for crafting as a busy mom nourishes your spirit and fuels your heart with creative joy. Have fun exploring quick and easy craft projects that you can work into pockets of time. Any of these ideas can provide a mini retreat for calming your mind, expressing your creativity, and making items to enjoy.

All of these crafts would be a good way to relax and add some beauty to ones home. I like the idea of the glass jar luminaries.

You have some really pretty ideals here.

My niece started out home craft to give as gifts and it was so popular she has turned it in to a side business. She makes different size candles in jars, colors and scents. And she also makes car fresshies all shapes and sizes.
