Quick and Easy Ribbon Angel Ornaments

Quick and Easy Ribbon Angel OrnamentsThese ribbon angel ornaments work up quickly and are super easy to make. You can whip up several of them in just one afternoon. It’s a great way to use up leftover small Christmas ball ornaments and your smaller amounts of wire-edged ribbon leftover from other projects. We had everything on hand to make them.

You can use any solid color or print ribbon that you have on hand. I do recommend the wire-edged ribbon for the best results. In addition to the ribbon you’ll need a little bit of florist wire or thin-guage string, small ornament balls, 1/4″ wide satin or sheer ribbon, a hot glue gun, and scissors to make them.

Our angels vary in height and width because we were using up leftover ribbon from other projects. Directions are for the one that is shown in the photograph.

The wings are made up of one piece of ribbon about 8-9″ in length. Folded over and pinched together in the center. To secure it we twisted a small piece of florist wire around it to hold it into place. The the ribbon that makes up the lower portion of the dress…another piece measuring about 7″ and folded in half. Hot glued to the back of the wings.

Pop-off the top of the ornament ball. I believe our’s measure 1 1/2″ in diameter. Hot glue it to the top of the angel’s wings. Hold it into place for a minute or two to allow the hot glue to adhere and so that it sits straight on top of the wings.

Finishing it up – Cut a small piece of satin ribbon or sheer ribbon. Tied it into a bow and glue it underneath the head at the top of the angel’s dress. For hanging…we made loops out of clear fishing line and hot glued the loops onto the back of the ornament ball (the head). That’s it, done!
