Dinner Date Night to the Cracker Barrel

Twice a month I try to take my wife out for a lunch or dinner. It’s a great way for us to stay connected, to take time for one another and to show her that I appreciate her. She loves not having to cook on those days. Sometimes I’ll take her to affordable places (family style restaurants) and at other times we’ll get dressed up and go out for 5-star dining.

Last month one of our dinner dates was to the Cracker Barrel. It had been a year since we were last there. We love their comfort foods and home-style meals. As an added bonus, the wife likes shopping in the old country store after our meal. Yeah, I’m a good husband and I pay for her purchases in there too.

Those of you who enjoy eating at the Cracker Barrel…what are some of your favorite things to order? I like their homemade chicken and dumplings along with cornbread and gravy. My wife seems to get something different every time that we go. On this particular visit she ordered a steak that came along with her choice of 3 sides.

I agree that dinner dates are important as one way to show someone you care for him or her. I have never been to the Cracker Barrel restaurant. It sounds nice.
