Chocolate Brownies with Peanut Butter Chips plus Freezing Tips

Chocolate Brownies with Peanut Butter Chips with Freezing TipsLove chocolate brownies? I make a pan of brownies once a month for my family to enjoy. Every time that I make them…I change it up a little bit to keep things interesting. Sometimes I toss in a handful of mini marshmallows, chopped peanuts, chocolate chips, swirl-in a big spoonful of creamy peanut butter and all sorts of other things. Dressing up a pre-purchased box of brownies mix is EASY!!!

My family likes our chocolate brownies a little bit on the gooey side…not cake-like. So, I remove them from the oven 2-4 minutes before the baking time is complete. Do you like ooey and gooey or cake-like?

Last week I used a plain box of chocolate brownie mix  and added in a 1/2 bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips. It was a 10 oz. sized bag, so 5 oz. of peanut butter chips were stirred into the batter before pouring it into the baking pan. To prevent sticking, I always spray my stoneware baking dishes with a little bit of non-stick baking spray.

Once they’re done baking and cooling…cut into squares. Now here’s a tip. Wrap a square in a food-safe paper towel and microwave for 5-10 seconds. It warms it right up and it melts in your mouth! Always store your brownies in an airtight container until you’re ready to enjoy them.

Freezing: Did you know that brownies free well? Yes they do! Once cool…cut into squares. Wrap each square in plastic wrap. Then place all of the wrapped squares into a zipper closure freezer bag. Label and freeze. They will keep for 3-6 months in your freezer. You can thaw at room temperature or thaw in the refrigerator. Reheat for 5-10 seconds in the microwave for a warm brownie treat.

I have never tried to add peanut butter or chips to brownies. It should v-be a delicious combination.

I like this combination of chocolate with the peanut butter chips. I frequently make a big batch of brownies and freeze them in packages of two.

  3. I never thought of doing this before and now I am so trying this recipe. This sounds like a little slice of heaven.
