My wife and I took a road trip last month and had a great time. We decided to pack a bag for a few days and hit the back roads with no major destination in mind. We just wanted to check out some small towns and off-the-beaten path attractions. Road trips can be really fun when you just hit the road together to see what America has to offer. Way too many people just visit the heavily advertised tourist attractions. Our country offers so much more!
While driving down one of the country back roads we passed this old stone castle. It’s the size of a mansion but totally looked like a medievel castle. The stone work looked like old cement blocks. There were no other homes or buildings nearby for several miles. NONE.
There were signs posted that it was private property so we pulled off onto the side of the road. I had to use the zoom feature on the camera to photograph it. It looked like it was still inhabited and being lived in. It didn’t look run-down nor abandoned. There was no signage at all to identify if it was historical or not. It definitely looked old.
It looked very interesting but at my age of almost 64 it’s not the type of house I would want to live in. Just too big for me to upkeep and take care of. What about you? Would you ever want to live in an old castle?
Living in an old castle does sound like a ton of work. I guess I would like to live in one if I had enough money for the upkeep. Cool day trip and love the pics.
