DIY Nature Rock Wall ArtLook for an inexpensive art and craft project? If so…head out on a nature walk through your neighborhood or local park to collect smooth rocks, pebbles, leaves, acorns, small twigs, seashells, and other small natural items that you find along the way. Once you collect the goodies you’ll be ready to create.

You should wash all of the rocks, pebbles, and seashells that you collected. Let them thoroughly dry. Any leaves, grass and twigs need to be dried out. Leaves can be placed between 2 sheets of waxed paper and placed inside books to dry out flat. If you want a quicker process…coat them with Modge Podge in a Matte Finish to preserve them. Make sure the items are clean, bug-free, and dry.

Arrange the items on the canvas art board in your preferred design. This is where your creativity comes in. You can do any design you like. Enhance the design using Sharpee Markers or Paint Pens. When it comes to gluing the items onto the canvas art boards we recommend using E6000 Adhesive Glue or Gorilla Glue. Hot glue from a glue gun does work as well. A tiny dab of glue is all you need, so don’t go crazy with it.

You can go with a completely natural looking design like what is shown in the first two photographs or you can embellish your artwork with non-natural items such as stickers, buttons, charms, broken jewelry, beads, rhinestones, satin ribbon bows, scrapbooking 3-D embellishments, ink, rubber stamps, etc. All those little things you have leftover from other arts and craft projects. A great way to use them up! The third photograph shows a design that was embellished with 3-D scrapbooking stickers.
